Spring Is Blooming: What We’re Loving This Season

Spring has officially arrived, and with it comes all the little things I’ve missed—fresh air, longer days, and time spent outside with my family. Lately, life feels busier than ever, but I’m doing my best to be more intentional and not let the season pass by in a blur. There are so many little moments I don’t want to miss—baseball games, blooming gardens, weekend gatherings—and I’m trying to make space for the good stuff, even in the chaos.

If you're in that same season of trying to soak it all in, I wanted to share a few of the things we’re enjoying right now—plus a free printable to help you plan your own spring get-together at the end of the post!

⚾ Ballpark Days & Family Time Outside

We’ve been spending a lot of our evenings and weekends at the baseball field lately, and I honestly love it. There’s something about sitting in the sunshine and cheering on the kids that feels like the perfect kickoff to spring.

I always keep a few go-to essentials packed and ready to grab—like a sturdy tote bag, a soft blanket for the grass, and a handful of snacks to keep everyone happy between innings. (Note to self: always bring extra veggie sticks.)

It’s a season of movement, but also of those small, joyful pauses between the chaos. And I’m here for it.

🌱 Garden Season Begins

One of my favorite ways to welcome spring is by getting our hands a little dirty. This year, we started a bunch of seeds in cups on the patio—watching them sprout has been such a fun little daily check-in with my kiddo. We're planning to transfer them into our raised beds this weekend. We also took a trip to the nursery and picked up a few more plants we didn’t start from seed, plus some cheerful blooms to tuck around the yard.

Even if it’s not a full garden setup, planting herbs in pots, strawberries in hanging baskets is such a great activity for the whole family to get their hands dirty too. Our garden aprons make it easier to stay clean-ish and organized (and they also make super sweet Mother’s Day gifts if you’re still looking!).

🥂 Outdoor Hosting Season (Even the Casual Kind)

We don’t throw fancy dinner parties, but we do love a good spring brunch or backyard dinner with close family and friends. And right now, I’m also in the midst of planning a little celebration for my son’s preschool graduation, which is making me think even more about ways to create sweet, simple moments around the table.

These gatherings don’t have to be elaborate. Sometimes it’s just using what you already have—favorite recipes, fresh flowers from the yard, or setting the table with a few personal touches to make everyone feel loved.

I’ll often add seasonal signs, pretty napkins, or something simple from the shop to tie it all together. It doesn’t need to be perfect—just thoughtful and welcoming.

To help you plan your own spring celebration, I created a free Spring Gathering Planner you can download below. Whether you're hosting a Mother’s Day brunch, a graduation dinner, or just a laid-back meal with friends, this printable will help you prep with ease.

It includes space for:

  • Guest list

  • Menu ideas

  • To-dos and reminders

  • A spot for decor notes or product links (like table signs or aprons, if you’re using them!)

Sometimes the best gatherings are the ones we plan simply, share generously, and remember long after the table’s been cleared.

🌼 Our Spring Bucket List (Big Plans + Small Joys)

Spring feels like the season where everything comes back to life—including our calendars! Even with a full schedule, I’m trying to be more intentional about soaking up the season and making time for the things that bring joy to our family.

Here’s what’s on our spring bucket list this year—some big outings, some small moments, and lots of ways to spend more time outside:

  • Watch a professional baseball game (we love minor league games—less crowded and budget-friendly!)

  • Plant our garden (or at least a few favorite herbs and veggies)

  • Eat dinner outside and grill as often as possible

  • Visit the farmers market and explore local festivals like art & wine events or craft beer pop-ups

  • Spend a morning at a local flower farm or u-pick field

  • Pick strawberries from a nearby farm and plan a cherry-picking day later in the season

  • Plan low-key park picnics and hit the splash pad on warm afternoons

  • Visit the local goat farm to see baby goats (because… how could we not?)

  • Take family spring photos—even if it’s just DIY with a tripod and sunshine

  • Grab dinner from a food truck night or local pop-up event

  • Go on daily bike rides together as a family (or as many as we can manage!)

  • Walk to school when the weather allows

  • Just be outdoors as much as we can—because after winter, it feels like a gift

We’re not trying to check every box—just making space for the kind of memories that don’t require a lot of planning, just a little intention.

However full your calendar may be, I hope this season brings you moments that feel slow, joyful, and meaningful—whether it's planting something new, gathering with friends, or just chasing sunlight with your family. Here's to making the most of spring, one small moment at a time.
